Our Client, a leading UK based independent Oil and Gas Company with
producing interests in the North Sea, Indonesia, Mauritania and Pakistan is
seeking for the following position:

Expatriate Exploration Geoscientist (EXP GEO SCI - PO)

Our Client wishes to appoint an expatriate Exploration Geoscientist in
Jakarta to work on its exploration assets. The primary focus of the role
will be the a newly awarded block on which 2D and 3D seismic will be
acquired in 2008, with 2 exploration wells in 2009. In this role the
successful candidate will work within a small national team, reporting on a
day to day basis to the Exploration Manager. He/she will be responsible for
leading the technical work within the group from basin and play analysis to
prospect generation and exploration well planning. The position will involve
working closely with Vietnam team to leverage experience in both directions.

The successful candidate will also be involved in other exploration
activities on company’s Indonesian acreage, where the company will play a
strong non-operator role and will require a solid technical view on which to
judge the operators recommendations.

In position will require:

· 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, gridding and mapping

· Regional and basinal evaluation incorporating all seismic and well
data to generate play fairway maps

· Interpretation, evaluation and integration of all subsurface data
including petrophysics, geochemistry and biostatigraphy in prospect
evaluation.

· Strong sequence stratigraphic and sedimentological evaluation
skills.

· Generation of detailed structural, fault and amplitude maps and
application of fault seal analysis and fault surface mapping.

· Detailed prospect and lead analysis including risk assessment and
volumetric analysis (deterministic and probabilistic) including a competent
understanding of dealing with stacked reservoirs

The role will also require

· Working closely with national staff

· Representation at JV meetings, operated and non-operated.

· Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously and to
tight deadlines

Qualifications

Candidates will have a degree in a technically related discipline and
ideally an MSc or PhD in geology or geophysics together with a minimum of 12
years’ experience in the upstream oil and gas sector.

International experience and operations within a PSC environment are highly
desirable. The individual must be able to think strategically, understand
key business drivers and be prepared to challenge traditional ways to
achieve continuous improvement.

They must have a good presence, confidence and integrity, be self-motivated
and able to implement change and persuade others to follow good practices.
Most importantly, the candidate must have very good team working skills,
with the ability to work at all levels both with expatriate and national
staff, Joint Venture Partners and Government officials.
